With 890 expeditions, experience is at the forefront of everything we do. This is not your typical safari. Uganda is known as the Pearl of Africa and for good reason. One of the only african nations which can offer the experience of chimpanzee’s, Mountain gorilla’s and the Shoebill stork.
You’ll arrive to Entebbe International airport and spend on night in the capital, Kampala. Travel to Kibale for the chimpanzee experience. One night here and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for two nights. Game drives and boat safari, before heading to Bwindi Impenetrable forest. Here you will have the rare opportunity to be apart of the four hour habituation process. For most, this is a life changing experience. An indescribable encounter, deep in the rainforest. No words will ever do it justice. We continue our journey to Lake Bunyoni. A hidden paradise for R&R. After a night here, we continue to Lake Mburo for a walking safari and a chance to find the elusive Shoebill stork. After our final night on safari we head back to the Entebbe to depart a wild and wonderful journey.
This is not a trip for everyone. It is for those who wish to discover what is possible in this world and come away for a deeper appreciation of the natural world. We look forward to welcoming our 4 special guests.
Early Morning: Domestic Flight Kampala to Kasese
After breakfast you will proceed to the Uganda Wildlife Park headquarters where you will be briefed on how to behave in the forest while in the presence of one of our closest relatives. Chimpanzee’s share 98.4% to 98.8% DNA with us hominin.
Once educated on the best practices enter the forest in search of the chimpanzees, as well as other primates.
Once completed, you will have lunch and you will travel across the Equator as you make your way to Queen Elizabeth National Park for an afternoon safari and begin your two night stay in the park.
Breakfast at the lodge and depart for a game drive in Kasenyi area, within Queen Elisabeth NP, on a look out for the lions, buffalos, elephants, and large numbers of Uganda Kobs and other antelopes and later return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, explore the Kazinga Channel on a boat safari. On the lookout for hippos, crocodiles and amazing water birds (02 hours approx.)
Once completed, head back to your lodge and freshen up for dinner.
This is a driving day. Check out after breakfast and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to half of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas. Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch, check in and have the rest of the day at your leisure. Use this time to enjoy some well deserved R&R, and get ready for the biggest adventure of them all.
Use this time to do final checks and preparation of your gear. The rainforest is unforgiving, best to be prepared!
Congratulations – today is the day. You will be the only 4 people in the world to have this experience today. 4 hours with some of the wildest Mountain gorilla’s that Bwindi has to offer. A massive contribution to science and conservation.

Gorilla trekking can be strenuous, and a certain level of fitness is required. Trekking can take from 30 minutes to three-quarters of the day, so one needs to prepare for both. Coming face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is one of the most memorable wildlife encounters in the world. Mountain gorillas (Gorilla beringei beringei) are a critically endangered species. At least 400 mountain gorillas inhabit the Bwindi Mountains and live at altitudes from 1,160m – 2,607m above sea level. There is a feeling of mutual understanding as you watch them in their home, going about their daily business. Youngsters will often show off, jumping to demonstrate their motor skills. Silverbacks may beat their chests as a sign of dominance! Or they may sit peacefully as a family, chomping on bamboo and grooming each other, watching you with the same intrigue you are showing them. Gorilla trekking is for sure a life-changing experience. Afterwards, return to base where your driver will be waiting to transfer you to the next destination – Lake Bunyoni.
A well needed rest day at one of our personal favourite locations in Uganda and the Continent. Lake Bunyoni is a fresh water lake full of crayfish that has formed inside the crater of an extinct volcano.
Take a boat tour around the 29 islands which are used on a daily basis by the community who have carved out a life along the rim of the volcano. The lake is one of the smallest in Uganda but depth analyses suggests it may be the second deepest lake in Africa.
A truly fascinating part of the world.
Leave Lake Bunyoni in the morning for your next Lake destination, Lake Mburo. Here you will embark on a walking safari in search of the very elusive, dinosaur like, Shoebill stork.
Despite its size, wetlands cover 20% of the park’s surface, forming part of a 50km-long wetland system connected by swamps and five lakes within the park’s borders. These diverse ecosystems support an incredible variety of wildlife, birds, and aquatic species, making Lake Mburo a must-visit destination for nature lovers and birdwatchers.
