24th of February – 4th of March
If you prefer to fly on the 7 day evening, it may very well be possible. Just to be aware it is a long drive and we are providing ample time and rest. In our experience most accessible flights from Keflavik are in the early morning.
March ‘25 for my birthday, I did this exact trip. It blew me away. Still talk about it on a monthly basis, reminiscing about how breathtaking it was. Every corner was more beautiful than the last. A local expressed to me that 10% of visitors to Iceland make it to the Westfjords. Majority of them during the summer months. This is a trip of a lifetime that really brings you to the wilder reaches of the world. The opportunity to witness mother nature at her rawest & wildest. Most likely, all to ourselves. Camper vans allow Iceland to be visited as it should be. As is it all encompassing – bed, kitchen, vehicle etc it also allows you to explore Iceland for more bang for your buck! This is the way to do it!
Harry will lead you every step of the way. Ensuring we stop at all the perfect locations, evaluating Aurora opportunities and keeping the trip flowing.
He will also be there to take group photos, especially when the northern lights shine!
Photography workshops are also be available for anyone wishing to learn how to use their camera + learning how to edit.
You will be taking photos of the northern lights in no time. Just bring a tripod!
Not into photography?
Don’t worry. This trip is all about how you wish to enjoy it!

Since we’re exploring an island in the middle of the North Atlantic, the weather likes to keep us on our toes! Your safety is our #1 priority, so our itinerary remains flexible. If the weather shifts, we adapt the route to ensure we’re always in the best (and safest) spots.
Not all campsites are fully operational during the winter months. While we can still park and sleep at these locations, some basic amenities (like showers or toilets) might be closed. We always aim for the best available spots, but we recommend embracing the “wild” side of the van-life experience!
Absolutely! If you fancy a break from the camper, you’re 100% welcome to book a hotel or guesthouse in the towns we pass through. Just a heads-up: hotel stays aren’t included in the package price, so that cost would be covered by you.
The Aurora Borealis is one of nature’s most incredible shows, but she’s a bit shy! While our 8-day window gives us a fantastic chance to see them, visibility depends on solar activity and clear, cloud-free skies. We’ll be hunting for them every night, but we can’t control the clouds!
BÓNUS supermarkert is the best value in Iceland. They can be found along our route so there should be no risk of falling short on food availability. You are the chef and all cooking can be done in the camper with the butane hob provided. You can cater to your own eating style and timetable.
The roads are very well maintained and conditions are tracked hourly online. We can see updated reports on road conditions and some roads have live cameras to witness live. In the Westfjords, some roads are not paved but they are easy to drive on.
In Iceland you must park & sleep in a campsite. There may be campgrounds without access to any basic amenities – showers, toilets etc due to the camp being closed in the winter. We do our best not to stay at these sights but due to any change in schedule, it may be the case.
Breathtaking fjords, jaw dropping mountains, towering waterfalls, sparkling skies and indescribable moments. The westfjords has it all!
Adventure seekers
There is a reason only 10% of visitors to Iceland each year visit the Westfjords. It is the end of Europe. The far reaches of an isolated island, just shy of the arctic circle. You have to be willing to go the extra mile. In return, you’ll be counting down the days until you can return again.
